PREMIER ROOFING’S AUTOMATIC ROOF-SNOW ROUTE
Roof clearing—handled automatically after every qualifying snowstorm.
Last winter, homeowners throughout New Hampshire were desperately calling roofing companies after snow had accumulated, ice dams had formed, and water was already entering their homes.
At that point, it was no longer routine snow removal. It had become an emergency.
When homeowners become desperate, they often hire whoever can arrive within a reasonable amount of time at a price they can afford. Unfortunately, improper snow and ice removal can damage shingles, metal panels, flashing, roof edges, vents, and other roofing components. The damage may remain hidden beneath the winter snow and ice, only becoming visible—or beginning to leak—when the roof is inspected in the spring.
In these situations, the roofing manufacturer’s warranty may not cover the damage because it was caused by improper snow or ice removal rather than a manufacturing defect. Damage caused by tools, foot traffic, incorrect removal methods, or an unqualified contractor may also jeopardize or void portions of the roof’s warranty. There is no guarantee that the person or company responsible for clearing the roof will accept responsibility or pay for the necessary repairs.
The homeowner may then be left paying to repair a damaged roof while also discovering that the affected portion of the roofing system is no longer protected by its original warranty.
Premier Roofing is introducing a proactive roof-snow-removal service that works like a driveway-plowing route. You enroll your home before winter, and after every qualifying snowstorm, our crew automatically adds your property to its route and removes the excess snow from your roof.
You do not have to call after every storm.
You do not have to search for an available roofer.
You do not have to wait until an ice dam or leak appears.
Customers whose roofs were installed by Premier Roofing will receive an additional discount when enrolling in the Automatic Roof-Snow Route. We already know your roofing system, and we want to help you protect your investment and maintain the roof we installed.
HOW ICE DAMS DEVELOP
Heat escaping into an attic can warm the upper portion of a roof and melt the snow above it. The water runs down toward the colder eaves, where it freezes again. As this cycle continues, a ridge of ice can build along the roof’s edge.
Additional melting snow can then become trapped behind that ice. The water may work beneath shingles and enter the roof system, potentially damaging insulation, ceilings, walls, flooring, and personal belongings.
Large accumulations of snow can also add substantial weight to a roof. The longer snow remains, the more likely it is to become compacted, heavy, and difficult to remove—especially when melting and refreezing begin.
Snow removal cannot correct the underlying causes of every ice dam, such as heat loss, inadequate insulation, air leakage, or poor ventilation. However, routinely reducing snow accumulation can remove much of the snow and moisture that would otherwise feed ice-dam formation.
PREVENTION COSTS LESS THAN AN EMERGENCY
Once ice has formed, removing it is slower, more difficult, and more dangerous than clearing fresh snow. The crew may need specialized equipment, additional labor, and more time to remove frozen buildup without damaging the roofing material.
Emergency snow and ice removal can cost a single-family homeowner thousands of dollars—before the cost of repairing the roof or water damage inside the home is considered.
Our service is designed to address the snow while it is still manageable. Instead of waiting for an emergency, homeowners receive scheduled, proactive roof clearing for a predetermined price.
HOW THE AUTOMATIC ROUTE WORKS
1. Enroll your property before winter and reserve a place on our route.
2. Premier Roofing monitors local snowfall throughout the season.
3. When snowfall reaches the qualifying service amount, your property is automatically placed on our schedule.
4. Our crew arrives according to the established route and removes the designated snow accumulation from the roof.
5. You receive service without having to call and request an emergency appointment after every storm.
WHY ROOF MAINTENANCE MATTERS
A new roof or manufacturer’s warranty does not mean that every future leak will be covered.
Roofing warranties generally cover specific qualifying defects under the written terms of the warranty. Damage caused by weather conditions, excessive snow or ice, ice dams, interior condensation, inadequate ventilation, building conditions, or a failure to reasonably maintain the property may be excluded.
The exact coverage depends on the manufacturer and the individual warranty. Homeowners should never assume that a shingle manufacturer will pay for roof repairs or interior damage simply because the roof is new.
Hiring the wrong person after an emergency can create another serious problem. Snow shovels, metal tools, ice picks, pressure, careless foot traffic, and aggressive ice removal can puncture, scrape, crack, loosen, or otherwise damage roofing materials. If that workmanship causes a leak, the manufacturer may deny coverage, and the homeowner could be forced to pursue the person who performed the removal—with no assurance that the damage will ever be paid for.
Routine snow management helps protect:
• Shingles and other roofing materials
• Roof edges, eaves, and gutters
• Skylights, valleys, and vulnerable transitions
• Ceilings, walls, insulation, and interior finishes
• The homeowner’s investment in the roofing system
THIS IS A PREVENTIVE SERVICE
We are not waiting for your ceiling to leak.
We are not waiting for several feet of snow to become saturated and dangerously heavy.
We are not waiting for snow to melt, refreeze, and become a solid mass of ice.
Our goal is to remove excess snow before it becomes a costly roofing emergency.
When it comes to protecting one of the most important and expensive components of your home, calling a qualified, properly insured roofing company before damage occurs is the only logical choice. Premier Roofing understands roofing systems, proper removal procedures, vulnerable roof areas, and the precautions required to clear snow without unnecessarily damaging the materials beneath it.
Enrollment will be limited because each property must be serviced reliably following a qualifying storm. Customers who reserve a place will receive priority route service under the terms of their snow-removal agreement.
Protect your home. Protect your roof. Protect your warranty.
