EvoTek recently completed the layout of the CDU support framing for a large data center project.

Before layout began, we used 3D laser scanning to capture the existing conditions and verify our alignment. By overlaying the design models within the point cloud, we were able to compare the planned install against the actual field conditions, identify potential clashes, and provide the project team with a clear visual representation of how the new framing would fit within the space.

3D laser scanning can be a valuable tool in fabrication QA/QC workflows. By comparing fabricated assemblies to digital models, teams can verify accuracy, evaluate tolerances, and identify discrepancies before material ever reaches the field.

Retrofitting an elevator shaft into an existing building leaves no room for guess work.

For this project, we established a tight control network and used 3D laser scanning to capture existing conditions. From the scan data, we produced 2D plan and elevation views showing critical clearances and existing structure, giving the design team what they need to evaluate fit, identify conflicts and finalize the location with confidence.

Once the location was approved, we provided layout, allowing the contractor to cut the opening accurately- avoiding rework and schedule delays. Projects like this show how reality capture and prices layout reduce uncertainty, protect the schedule, and keep coordination on track.
