Finishing touches on these arches 🛠️👌🏻🛠️

Now that the arch itself is framed, it’s time to complete the infield framing back to the demising wall.

Using 2⅝” steel studs turned flat and installed every 6”, this will give the drywall plenty of support while helping maintain the shape of the radius. The flexible track on the wall side is also secured back to the studs with the proper fasteners and drywall anchors to prevent any twisting or movement down the road.

Nobody will ever see this part once it’s finished, but that’s usually where the quality is hiding.

Third arch complete. 🛠️

Started with a temporary template, swapped in the final plywood form, then built the radius from scratch using basic layout tools, hand-cut flexible track, and a lot of measuring.

The goal wasn’t just building an arch—it was making sure all three work together. The left and right arches match exactly, while the center arch sits slightly higher by design to create a more balanced focal point.

Many ways to do it! This way worked well for this application 👌🏻

Two down, one to go.

There are a lot of ways to frame a radius like this. Some builders prefer wood, some prefer steel. For this project, I used a plywood template to establish the exact radius, then installed flexible track directly over it.

The biggest advantage? Consistency.

Using the same template for all three openings ensures every arch matches the next, which makes a huge difference once drywall and finish work begin.

This is just one method that worked well for me. Sharing it in case it helps someone else tackle a similar project.

Build forever.

Back at it with another custom arch.

For this one, I’m installing the handmade flexible bottom track that lets us turn straight steel framing into smooth curves.

And yes… before anyone points it out, there’s a moment where I cut toward myself. Not recommended. I survived, the arch survived, and we’re moving on. 🤓

Still love getting hands-on with this kind of work. It’s amazing how a few simple materials can completely change the feel of a space.

Building the arch.

Started with a plywood template to establish the exact curve, then modified steel track to follow the radius and framed it out with studs at 6” on center for a solid foundation.

Once everything was secured, the template came down and the arch was ready.

It’s always satisfying watching a design take shape from a simple layout line to a finished feature! 🛠️

Creating templates for decorative wall framing to include popout wall with archways (and shelving to be added later) this is one way to do it, there are many like it, but this one is mine. 👌🏻

Another bathroom renovation completed and back in service after extensive slab leak mitigation.

One of the biggest goals on this project was creating balance throughout the space. We carefully centered the freestanding vanity on the back wall, aligned the tub between the shower curb and adjacent wall, and positioned everything to work naturally with the existing window layout. Small details like these make a huge difference in the finished appearance of a room.

We also took extra care with the tile layout to maintain clean lines throughout the shower and incorporate a full-tile shampoo niche for a cleaner, more intentional finish.

This project included:
• Custom walk-in shower
• Freestanding soaking tub
• Freestanding vanity
• New lighting fixtures
• New mirror
• New exhaust fan
• Updated finishes throughout

There are still a few final touches to be completed by other trades, including paint touch-ups and installation of a bifold barn door leading into the closet, but the bathroom is now fully functional and looking great.

At True Line Building Services, we believe the details matter. Proper layout, symmetry, and planning before installation are what help create a finished product that feels right when you walk into the room.

Thank you to our clients for trusting us with their home.

On to the next! 👍🏻
