MSP Electric

Phase 1A is complete at King of Kings Church & School, marking the first step in a multiyear transformation of the campus!

This phase included a full remodel of the Sanctuary, with new light fixtures and in-floor electrical infrastructure installed to support a new raised music platform. Our team also installed a new fire alarm system and completed electrical work throughout the remodeled office and administration areas.

From upgrading the spaces people gather in to building the infrastructure for what comes next, Phase 1A is setting the foundation for an exciting future at King of Kings.

We’re proud to be part of a project that will continue to grow and take shape over the next several years—and we’re just getting started. ⚡

With 18 years of experience in the electrical field, Josh brings a great deal of knowledge and experience to the MSP Electric team. He believes that success in the trade goes beyond electrical work. Having strong mechanical abilities and understanding how other trades operate can make a big difference when it comes to planning and completing a job successfully.

One of Josh’s proudest accomplishments has been becoming a Foreman and earning the trust to work in a variety of job settings. His experience, adaptability, and understanding of the work around him make him a valuable part of our team, especially in the unique and fast-paced airport environment.

Outside of work, Josh enjoys spending time with his two boys and watching them grow and succeed in school and sports.

We’re grateful to have Josh as part of MSP Electric and appreciate the experience and dedication he brings to the team.

More than 100 planned power outages. Four sets of substations. One major effort to improve electrical reliability at MSP Airport.

The scope of this project includes electrically connecting four separate sets of electrical substations to provide greater redundancy throughout the airport in the event of power outages. This work includes the installation of new switchgear, along with retrofitting existing equipment in place.

A major part of this effort is the extensive outage planning required to complete the work safely. By completion, the project will have required more than 100 carefully planned and coordinated power outages to complete all work, testing, and commissioning.

An effort of this magnitude requires extensive coordination and teamwork, and we are extremely grateful for the dedication of the entire MSP Electric team. Strong communication and coordination between our 1st and 3rd shift crews have played an important role in keeping the project moving successfully.

Thank you to everyone involved for your continued hard work and commitment!

This month, we're shining the spotlight on James Scharber and recognizing him for his hard work, dedication, and commitment to the electrical trade. James is someone who consistently shows up ready to work, takes pride in what he does, and is always willing to put in the effort to get the job done right.

When asked what people outside the industry might not realize about his job, James said it's the amount of patience it takes. Every project comes with its own challenges and taking the time to do the work safely and correctly is what leads to quality results.

Safety is something James takes seriously, and one habit
he never skips is stretching before the workday begins. It's a simple routine that helps prepare him for the physical demands of the job and sets the tone for a safe day on site.

When he's off the clock, you'll most likely find James on the water kayak fishing, enjoying the outdoors and making the most of his free time.

James's hard work, dedication, and commitment to safety make him a valued member of the MSP Electric team. We're proud to recognize his contributions and appreciate everything he does.
