Each year as our gift to each other in the offices of Standard Construction we donate to a cause in the communities in which we work. This year we organized a food drive for the Hearts and Hands Ministries in Byhalia, Mississippi. They are not a part of the Mid South food bank so they rely solely on direct donations.  We were pleased to be able to help them this year with items such as oatmeal, canned goods, peanut butter, pasta, canned tuna, and other items. In this day and time, no one should have to go without a meal.

SHOP MAINTENANCE & PARTS RUNNER CORDOVA TENNESSEE

The Shop Maintenance/Parts Runner maintains the cleanliness of the work area as well as public areas by sweeping the shop floor, disposing of used boxes and trash, and returning unused parts to the parts room.
A small percentage of the time will consist of driving a company truck to and from local parts houses picking up various vehicle parts to deliver to the technicians.

Responsibilities - Job responsibilities include direct management of the following:
• Empty Trash in multiple areas
• Sweep Shop Floor maintaining a clean work area for Mechanics
• Pressure Wash Heavy Equipment
• Pickup recycle from main office.
• Maintain a clean environment on property yard, employee building and restrooms in-between janitorial and landscaping visits.
• Safely drive to and from local parts houses in a timely but safe fashion
• Deliver parts to technicians at shop, job sites or other company locations.
• Assist technicians when needed.

Position Requirements
• Must have valid driver license with clean driving record.
• Attention to performing duties in a safe efficient manner.
• Willingness to work some Saturdays.
• Attendance and timeliness is mandatory.
• Must be able to manually clean debris from work areas, and assist in maintenance and repairs as needed.
• Verbal communication
• The ability to get along while working side by side with coworkers.
• Should be able to work unsupervised at times while maintaining an productive work day.
• Pre-employment criminal background, motor vehicle report and drug testing will apply.

Christmas In July Community Project
Standard Construction employees generously donated $4000. to provide much needed items for the Memphis Union Mission. Items such as T-Shirts, socks, underwear, hats, gloves, blankets, soap, shave kits, dental kits, deodorant, and much more. Many people are just one paycheck away from homelessness through no fault of their own and are in need of a helping hand.
Jay Armstrong, Mike Nichols, Maria Sanchez and Phylis Lovell delivered the two pickup truck loads to a very appreciative Memphis Union Mission.
We are so proud of our employees and their generosity to help others in need.

PIT TRUCK SERVICE TECHNICIAN

This position requires the individual to perform maintenance, preventative and incidental such as oil/lube, fuel, tire and fluids, on company vehicles at various aggregate pit locations. This will include trucks, dozers, excavators, among other heavy equipment.
