Giving my onions a haircut ✂️🧅

My Texas 1015 Yellow onion seedlings were getting tall and floppy, so it was time to trim them back to about 3 inches tall.

Keeping the tops trimmed while they’re young helps me grow stronger, sturdier transplants that are much easier to handle when it’s time to plant them out in the garden.

These were started from seed and will keep growing in their tray until they’re ready to go into the garden in October!

Anyone else growing onions from seed this fall? 🌱

It’s time to get those warm-season crops growing, Florida! 🌱☀️

Beans, cucumbers, tomatoes, eggplants, peppers… September is when the fall garden really starts coming to life around here.

My Contender bush beans are already starting to flower 🙌 and I’m getting my tomatoes transplanted into the garden now. After a long Florida summer, it feels SO good to be filling the garden back up again!

Look at my vanilla bean orchid go! 🌿🤩

I got this little tropical vanilla plant from Mint the Garden Witch when we met at the Vego Garden creator meetup in Texas, and it has been SO fun watching it take off since I brought it home.

It’s putting out tons of new growth and apparently it’s pretty happy with its new home. 🌱

Now I just need to keep it happy long enough to eventually get some vanilla beans! 🤞🏻

8 Granadero sauce tomatoes, 2 super sweet 100 cherry tomatoes, 2 Big Beef Plus slicing tomatoes, and 2 Juliet sauce tomatoes. I’ll be pruning them to a single leader all season. Can’t wait to see them grow 😍

Visited Lukas Nursery in Oviedo today 🌿 I used to live right around the corner about 9 years ago, so it was fun coming back and wandering around again.

This place is HUGE — so many plants, fruit trees, garden supplies, and way too many things to tempt me 😂
