Came across an article about our grandfather, Hugh Lucas, who was the president of the Farmers Exchange. Jim Lucas's Dad, John ("Johnny") Lucas, stepped into the family footprint by opening and operating a plant and tree nursery directly out of that same Farmers Exchange location. Along with family members like Dave, they built a deep local expertise in regional horticulture, plant care, and tree maintenance. He later started "Lucas Lawns in 1975. After Johnny passed, his wife Linda retired and their son Jim took over the business. He tries to be earnest in his work as well.

In July, tis the season for fertilizing, also grub prevention and control. We are currently treating and preventing trees and shrubs against insect and diseases. Give us a call.

Most trees and shrubs are planted in low fertility soils, therefore the roots are starved of the essential minerals they need. We suggest fertilization of your trees and shrubs at least every 2 years.
