We sat down with the owner of Buttercream & Olive Oil, a local culinary destination & bakehouse, to talk about one of the materials that often gets overlooked in commercial settings: marble.

Before choosing marble for their countertops, durability, staining, and everyday maintenance were all part of the conversation. But after living and working with it, she discovered that marble is not quite as intimidating as it’s made out to be.

This incredible lower-level entertaining space took home Gold in the Specialty Projects category of the 2026 Kitchen & Bath Design Awards—and we’re incredibly proud to see this project recognized.

One of our favorite kitchen design trends right now is the hidden appliance—and this one does it beautifully.

Custom cabinetry was designed around the fridge so seamlessly that it reads as one gorgeous, built-in cabinet rather than a refrigerator.

It's a perfect example of how thoughtful design can make even the most functional elements of a kitchen feel intentional. ✨
