Because of their courage, we have the freedom to raise our families, work hard, and live our lives. That freedom was paid for by people willing to give everything for something bigger than themselves.

Some people ask “How old you think this tree is?”

On this job we were told her Dad planted this tree when he was 16 and he would’ve been 99 this year.
Willow tree was 83yrs old!

Next is a Black Cherry we cut down at the Kuse Preserve on Allman Ave. DBH was 27” putting the tree roughly at 120yrs old.

Size difference in species is always something to look at!

This isn’t our first rodeo.

Another ice storm rolled through our area. Not as big as December 2022 — but enough to create hazards. Ice changes everything. Limbs can weigh double or more. Iced trees are unpredictable and life-threatening for homeowners and anyone working around them.

Winter changes the game.

We added a new machine to the lineup — the Arctic Cat Bearcat — and it’s already proving its worth.

Some of our toughest jobs are properties with near-impossible summer access but excellent water access. When the lakes freeze, that becomes our highway. Few weeks ago with temps being single digits we were able to continue working and working fast.

We’re able to skid trees across frozen lakes at 30 mph, unhook at the boat ramp, and get back to the jobsite faster and more efficiently than ever.

This machine has opened doors that most crews simply can’t reach.

Winter hasn’t slowed us down. It gives us an advantage. 🌲❄️

I’ll be posting a video of what we have done to our Bearcat to set it up for skidding and video of it in action will be coming soon.

Yesterday we worked on opening up the trails at Bear Crossing Ski Trails. Snow and ice had down trees and made grooming the trails impossible. Some of the prettiest scenery to go skiing and snowshoeing.

Opening the woodyard up for the public was a great success. We had close to 20 different trucks/trailers loaded. Some families were in real need of this resource and said it was a great help!

We have started collecting logs, because will be doing this again next year!
