🌧️ Goodbye, August. Hello, September.

Summer is officially wrapping up, and apparently we’re welcoming September with SIX DAYS OF RAIN. ☔️ McMinnville, your roof is about to get a workout.

If your shingles are getting old, curling, cracked, covered in moss, or just looking like they’ve seen better days… now is the time to take a look.

Because the best time to find a roofing problem is before the rain finds it for you.

Is your roof ready for the season ahead?

A beautiful new build with a roof to match.

We were brought in to handle the roofing on this new construction project, featuring a KYNAR 500 Hemlock Green metal roof from Taylor Metal Products.

With multiple rooflines, transitions, and detailed standing-seam work, this project required a high level of precision and craftsmanship from start to finish. The Hemlock Green finish ties beautifully into the natural surroundings and gives this home a timeless look.

Proud of the attention to detail our crew put into this one. 🔨🏠

🏠 BEFORE YOU HIRE A CONTRACTOR, DO YOUR HOMEWORK.

“Licensed, bonded and insured” sounds reassuring - but do you know what those terms actually mean?

More importantly, have you verified them?

Before you hire someone to work on your home, take a few minutes to:

✅ Verify their CCB license and make sure it’s active.
✅ Confirm they are properly bonded and insured.
✅ Look up their CCB history for complaints or disciplinary actions.
✅ Read reviews across multiple websites rather than relying on just one source.
✅ Ask questions if something doesn't look right or you don't understand what you're being told.

A legitimate contractor should be comfortable providing this information.

And remember: a great-looking website, a low bid, or a handful of five-star reviews doesn't tell the whole story.

Your home is one of your biggest investments. Take the time to know who you're trusting with it.

Do your research. Verify the credentials. Then hire with confidence.

✏️ Roof Talk Tuesday: Leaves & Roof Debris

Your roof isn't a storage place for leaves. 🍂

So what's hiding underneath all that debris?

When leaves and organic debris collect in roof valleys, creases, and low spots where water needs to drain, they can do more than make your roof look messy.

They can trap moisture against roofing materials, slow drainage, encourage moss and algae growth, and hide problems underneath - including damaged shingles, failing flashing, and areas of premature deterioration.

A few leaves here and there? Normal.

But when you see a buildup like this, it's worth taking a closer look.

And here's something homeowners should pay attention to:

If debris consistently collects in one particular area of your roof, don't just sweep it away and forget about it. That recurring buildup may be telling you something about how water is moving across your roof.

Keep an eye on the places where water - and debris - like to collect.

Roofing isn't easy.

Hot summer days
Long hours
Steep roofs
Heavy materials

But our crew shows up and gets it done.

We received this wonderful review from Mindy Menke yesterday, noticing how hard our guys worked despite the heat.

That's one of things we're most proud of - not just the roofs we build, but the people who build them.

Mindy, thank you for recognizing our crew. ❤️

And to our guys - thank you for bringing the hard work every day.

Happy Friday, and goodbye July! ☀️💪

ARE YOUR SHINGLES LOSING THEIR ARMOR?

Most homeowners have seen this, but many have no idea what they're looking at.

Those little grains on asphalt shingles aren't just for appearance -they help protect your roof from UV rays, weather, and everyday wear.

As shingles age, it's normal to lose some granules over time. But excessive granule loss can be a sign that your roof is nearing the end of its lifespan or has been through a rough storm or two.

Signs to watch for:
• Bare or shiny spots on shingles
• Granules collecting in gutters or downspouts
• Uneven coloring across the roof
• Exposed asphalt beneath the surface

Once the protective granule layer is gone, shingles can deteriorate much more quickly.

If you're finding large amounts of granules in your gutters or noticing bald spots on your roof, it may be time for an inspection.

A roof should be built to last. And one of the biggest advantages of metal roofing is its longevity.

This transformation features a new roof from Taylor Metal Products, designed to stand up to decades of Pacific Northwest weather while delivering a clean, timeless look.

What a difference a new roof can make!

Sometimes a single improvement can completely transform the look of a home.

This project replaced a worn, weathered gray roof with beautiful new Burnt Sienna shingles, giving the home a fresh new look while providing lasting protection from the elements.

We love seeing transformations like this one, and we're thrilled with how this project turned out. Most importantly, we're grateful for the opportunity to help homeowners protect what matters most.

Take a look through the before and after photos and let us know what you think of the transformation!

Happy Father's Day Weekend!

Behind every roof we build is someone working hard to provide for the people they love.

Here's to the dads who build more than houses.

At Jeremy Rhodes Construction, we know that the strongest homes are built by the people who fill them with love.

To all the dads, grandpas, stepdads, and father figures - thank you for the countless ways you show up for your families, your friends, and your community.

We wish you a safe, relaxing, and well-deserved Father's Day weekend.

People often don't realize that gutters are an important part of your roofing system. Gutters do more than keep rain off your head - they're one of your home's first lines of defense against water damage.

And if your gutters look anything like this... it's probably time for a cleaning. 👀

When gutters become clogged with leaves, dirt, and debris, rainwater has nowhere to go. Instead of flowing safely away from your home, it can overflow and cause problems you may not notice right away.

Clogged gutters can lead to:

🏠 Water backing up under the edge of your roof

💧 Rotting fascia boards

🪵 Damage to siding

🌱 Erosion around your foundation

🦟 Standing water that attracts pests

The good news? A little maintenance goes a long way.

Checking and cleaning your gutters a couple of times a year - especially after the leaves have fallen and again in the spring - can help protect your roof and your home, helping you avoid costly repairs down the road.

Have you checked your gutters lately?
