**Friday Project Spotlight: Compressor Replacement**
This week’s Project Spotlight goes to **Shane and Hoogie** for completing a warranty compressor replacement on **CU-2** after the existing compressor was found grounded.
This repair involved more than simply swapping out a part. The team followed proper service and safety procedures from start to finish, including removing the unit from service, locking out/tagging out electrical service, recovering the existing R-410A refrigerant, flushing the lines, and removing the failed compressor.
As part of the repair, Shane and Hoogie replaced:
- (1) warranty compressor
- (1) liquid line drier core
- (1) contactor
Once the new components were installed, the team pulled a vacuum, completed a pressure test, returned the unit to service, charged the system with new R-410A to factory charge, and tested and logged the unit for proper operation.
Compressor work takes skill, patience, and attention to detail. From refrigerant recovery to final startup, each step matters when bringing equipment safely and reliably back online.
Nice work, Shane and Hoogie. Thank you for representing RPM well in the field and getting this unit back in operation.
