General contractors and roofers are construction experts.
I don’t tell an insurance company how to interpret its policy, and an insurance company shouldn’t be telling a contractor whether a roofing system is physically repairable.
I don’t speak policy. They don’t speak construction.
My job is to inspect the roof, evaluate the materials, test repairability, and document whether a proper repair can actually be performed without damaging the surrounding roofing system.
Their job is to determine what the policy covers.
Those are two completely different roles.
A roof isn’t repairable simply because someone behind a desk says it is.
If the proposed repair can’t actually be completed using proper construction practices without causing additional damage, then it isn’t a viable repair.
Policy questions belong with the insurance company.
Construction questions belong with the contractor.
It’s that simple.
