Part 3

This is where you can see the damage done to the gray seal block. The first picture is a new one and the second picture is where you can see the damage from the red shaft collar dropping and tearing through the block. The other pictures show the black seal plate damage, and also the pack seal damage.
These 10hp pumps are very heavy duty and require every piece to be put on exactly how the manufacturer intended. If not it can cause serious damage and cost the owner a lot of money. This mistake by the pool builder voided the homeowners warranty on the equipment.

Part 2

Here is the near completed install, once we put the motor back on we take off the red shaft collar. The shaft collar acts like a temporary compression to install the pac seal. This is one of the main reasons why the grey seal bock was completely torn apart along with the black seal plate. This can be a common misconception, and I think that’s why the pool builder made this mistake. It definitely shouldn’t have happened especially when you’re paying hundreds of thousands of thousands of dollars for a new pool. I will share part 3 of some pictures and you will be able to see the damage caused by incorrect installation.

We’re here with a WEG W22 10 hp Riverflow lazy river pump that needed a new pac seal replacement, new seal cover plate, seal block and some new snap rings.

This customer is in litigation with their pool builder and they left the equipment installed incorrectly.

One of our customers experienced freeze damage, resulting in three cracked valves, two check valves, and a damaged heater manifold. We replaced the affected components with new multi-port valves and check valves, and bypassed the heater. We recommend winterizing pool equipment only in situations where power outages occur for extended periods during freezing temperatures.
