We’re excited to share some big news at Co Lab Insulation!

We’re proud to welcome two new managing partners to the team: Cynthia Busch and Alex Walk.

Cynthia has been with Co Lab since day one. She has played a major role in the growth of this company and treats every project like it’s her own. Her work ethic is second to none—she’s put in six-day weeks for years without complaint—and her loyalty and pride in the quality we deliver have made her true family. We’re thrilled to see her step into this next chapter as a managing partner and continue moving the company forward.

Cynthia lives in Charleston with her wife Hillary and daughter Avery. She’s a strong advocate for animals, loves riding motorcycles, spending time with her nieces and nephews, and working on her Charger in her free time.

Alex Walk was born and raised in Neoga. His dad was a hog farmer and his mom a teacher. He attended Lakeland College and Eastern Illinois University, where he met his wife Lexi (an RN at Sarah Bush). Together they have four kids—Lucy, Pierce, Quinn, and Lyla—and can usually be found at the baseball or softball field or hanging out at the park.

Alex grew up working on the family farm, later worked as a loan officer, served as general manager at Lexmark Insulation, and is the owner of Tier One Insulation, specializing in sub-grade foam. We’re excited to have his passion, experience, and knowledge join Co Lab as a managing partner.

This company would be nothing without the people who show up every day and do the work. A huge thank you to Hugo, Taylor, Dalton, Jacob, Trevor, Chris, and Kirk—your hard work and commitment to quality never go unnoticed.

Cynthia took the team out and knocked a 36 x 40 new pole building today. R-19 on the walls followed up with a R-38 blown in the attic.

Excited for all the new homes being built in Charleston and mattoon!

The crew pulled together and knocked out 3 new constructions this past week despite the high temperatures. Cynthia pulled the entire team including office staff to make it possible.

These homes were insulated with 2” of closed cell foam along with an R-15 Batt to meet the current energy code. One attic insulated to an r-60 in cellulose and the other in fiberglass. Crawlspace exterior walls were insulated with 2” of closed cell and a 6 mil v***r barrier.

Another great week in the works! 🏠❄️🔨

The team knocked this one out of the park yesterday. 6 inches of UPC closed-cell foam (R-38) followed up with 5.5 inches of open-cell foam in the exterior walls (R-19). The floor system was also insulated in this one with 4 inches of UPC closed-cell foam (R-30). Give Co Lab a call for all your insulation needs!
