Billy was a good man and a good friend to the Vaccarella & McPeek Family’s. Billy was Jody & Cathys best man at their wedding back in 1973. I do believe Jody and Billy will be having lots of fun up in heaven & putting out lots of fires ❤️

Today, our fire company lost someone who meant a great deal to so many of us.

Billy Spafford wasn’t just a former Chief or Fire Official—he was someone who truly cared about this job, this community, and the people around him. For decades, he gave his time, shared his knowledge, and never hesitated to help someone who needed it. Whether you worked alongside him for years or only met him a few times, you quickly understood the kind of person he was.

Billy served as Fire Official for Cliffwood Fire District #2 and left a lasting mark on our department. His experience, guidance, and steady presence helped shape many of the firefighters who wear this badge today. He believed in doing things the right way and always put the community first.

We’re grateful for everything he did for our fire company and for the example he set through a lifetime of service.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Billy’s family, friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Rest easy, Chief. Thank you for your years of dedication, your leadership, and your friendship. We’ll take it from here.

We are pleased to share that the Irrigation Association of New Jersey (IANJ) has once again secured a Joint Legislative Resolution declaring July as Smart Irrigation Month throughout the Garden State.

The Irrigation Association Smart Irrigation Month takes place every July to promote the economic, social and environmental benefits of efficient water use in landscapes and agriculture.

This resolution was sponsored by Senate President Nicholas Scutari and Assembly Speaker Craig Coughlin, recognizing the importance of smart irrigation practices in conserving water, protecting our natural resources, and promoting responsible landscape irrigation throughout New Jersey.

This achievement would not have been possible without the dedicated efforts and advocacy of our government relations partners at MBI-GluckShaw, Inc.. We sincerely appreciate their continued support in advancing the mission of IANJ and the irrigation industry.
