Nobody compliments a perfect spackle job. That's how you know it's perfect.
It's slow, careful work that disappears the moment the paint goes on. Get it wrong and every shadow and light fixture shows it for years. Get it right and you never think about it again.

POV: You just learned something about your house that nobody ever explained to you.

See what he’s doing around that window?

It’s called capping. And while most homeowners focus on the windows themselves, the finishing details deserve just as much attention.

Properly installed capping helps protect exterior wood from the weather and reduces maintenance.

The things you don’t know about your home could surprise you.

Be honest… did you know what capping was before this video?

Follow Selective Remodeling. We’re making homeowners smarter, one Tip Tuesday at a time.

Even Nonna sat in for the new onboarding training this morning.

The woman who feeds this whole crew by hand, every single day — still pulling up a chair to learn something new. That's the thing about this family: nobody here is too seasoned to keep growing, and nobody's too important to show up and do the work.

Happy Monday from all of us at Selective.

It’s Sunday. You know what that means.

National Geographic has officially discovered the rarest species on Long Island… The Italian Nonna.

Every Sunday, she begins her weekly mission. The grocery store. The ingredients. The SAUCE.

No recipes. No measurements. No shortcuts. And absolutely NO jarred sauce.

Her responsibility? Feeding an entire remodeling company like they’re her own children.

Some companies have a break room. We have Nonna.

Welcome to Selective Remodeling, where the sauce is homemade, the opinions are unsolicited, and nobody leaves hungry.

Tag someone who grew up with a Nonna like ours.

Some kitchens are built to be looked at. This one was built to be lived in. A big island with room for everyone to pull up a stool, warm wood cabinetry, and light that makes every morning feel easy. This is what it looks like when a family finally gets the kitchen they've been picturing for years. Thinking about yours? Book a free consultation through the link in our bio.

What this client remembers is how those hiccups were handled. Armand got everything moving from day one. Chelsea designed a bathroom that feels cohesive and fits their home. Rob coordinated every trade and every moving piece. Samantha stayed on top of it all, communicated, and followed through until everything was right.

"From the heated floor and tile work to the cabinetry, fixtures and overall design, it has completely transformed the room."

Thank you for trusting our whole team with your home.

Every project is backed by our 5-year warranty. Book your consultation at the link in bio.

Throwback to a day in the life of Nonna, October edition. Witch hat on, breakfast out, fridge restocked, counters wiped. Meanwhile the team is filming down the hall, the Nonna Hotline is taking calls, and the meeting starts while she's still cleaning. That's how a family business runs, and it's the standard we bring to every home we build. Book your free consultation and come see the showroom in person. Link in bio.

It's a different story when the project takes over the whole house. If it touches several rooms at once, your only bathroom, or the systems you rely on every day, moving out for a while usually makes life easier, keeps everyone safer, and lets the work move faster.

Either way, you don't have to figure it out alone. Alongside our trusted partners, including US Relocators and the realtors we work with every day, we help you plan where you'll stay, get your things moved, and come home to a finished space.

Not sure which camp your project falls into? Book your free consultation through the link in our bio and we'll walk you through it. Relocators

Most of what makes a remodel go right happens before anyone picks up a hammer.
It happens in planning sessions around the showroom table. At trade shows and industry trainings where we learn what's new and what's next. In early-morning team meetings where we talk through every job, every client, and every detail we can do better. It's a family that's been doing this since 2007, and still shows up every week asking how to raise the bar.

That's who we are. Not just the crew you see on site, but the people behind it who never stop learning, never stop refining, and never stop caring about your home like it's ours.

Here's to a new week of getting better. Happy Motivation Monday.
