Follow along while we transform this master bathroom and get rid of the added chimney that ran up the corner of the shower. (Seriously why would anyone do that)

3yr old house thats had more than its share of issues already but I definitely think the old deck and staircase arangement were ridiculous and not safe with kids. Nothing there to stop a 6ft fall to the concrete slab below. The new deck fixed that problem by running a new frame all the way to the corner and then bringing the staircase down the bottom as any normal person would do.

Worked on blocking the frame for stiffness, installed the deck gutter system to keep it dry underneath, and white soffiting for close it up.

Ran our border and seam boards and began laying the regular courses.

Out with the old, in with the new. We are building it with more square feet, stronger framing (12" OC floor joists and 3 ply 3x12 main beam), and moving the staircase.
