(American Contracting) is a general contractor specializing in water and wastewater treatment plant construction in the Mid-Atlantic region. Established in 2004, our firm has developed a reputation for building quality work on schedule and in collaboration with owners and engineers. ACE believes in a detailed project management philosophy. Our projects are staffed with experienced Project Managers

, Project Engineers and Superintendents who insure that each job is managed efficiently from Notice to Proceed until completion of the final punchlist item. We self-perform the site civil, structural, concrete and process mechanical work, which gives us greater control over the direction of each project. As a result, our projects are typically completed on time, with high quality, and with a satisfied owner and engineer. Our workforce is one of the most skilled and experienced in our industry. We employ a versatile group of foremen, millwrights, pipefitters, carpenters, and operators, many of whom have been building treatment plants for over 20 years. We strive to provide a safe working environment for our workforce and regularly provide safety training to all employees.

This Veterans Day weekend, it was a privilege to have an ACE contingent participate in the Feed a Veteran event in Woodbridge, to give back to those who have served our country.

Held on Saturday, the event brought together over 225 participants, raised more than $25,000, and prepared and delivered over 550 meals!

A special congratulations to George Strish and Kayla Matis, who represented ACE exceptionally by finishing first in their age groups!

We also extend a big thank you to Kellie Grimes for organizing and rallying our ACE team to support this wonderful cause.

Thank you to all veterans, especially those on our ACE team, Mike Smith, Adam Samp, Jason McCauley and Tommy O'Connor. Thank you all for your service!

A little throwback Thursday to simpler times in 2007 when we held one of our first Manager's Meeting at the Princess Royal Hotel in Ocean City, MD.

With 13 managers in attendance, a pathway to success was formulated and two 70 pound tunas were caught on an off-shore team fishing trip!

President Joe Godin and Superintendent Mike Kaufman proudly display the impressive catch, they likely had a bit of assistance reeling them in from Jim, Brandon and Jeff!

Relive the magic of our unforgettable Building Community day at the The Howard County Conservancy!

It was great to see our team come together to make a difference in our community for an organization dedicated to educating about the natural world and being a responsible steward of our land.

Check out these snapshots of our volunteers in action! Can you spot the most expensive Operator?!

And as with most ACE events, we took the opportunity for friendly a competition with a skid steer showdown. Congrats to Fitsum Fikre for taking 1st place!

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us to help clean up and contributed to the success of this event. Let's continue to protect and preserve our natural world!

Our hearts go out to all affected by the recent collapse of The Francis Scott Key Bridge. Especially for the construction workers performing essential night work on the bridge, that one hits close to home.

Here is a photo of the bridge at sunrise that our superintendent Tommy O'Connor captured years ago and submitted to our Facebook photo contest.

This submission comes from ACE Superintendent Tommy O’Connor. Tommy captures the sun rising over the Patapsco River with the Francis Scott Key Bridge in the distance.

The Francis Scott Key Bridge, also known as the Outer Harbor Bridge or simply the Key Bridge, is a Steel Arch-Shaped Continuous Through Truss Bridge spanning the Patapsco River in Baltimore, Maryland, USA. The main span of 1,200 feet (366 m) is the third longest span of any continuous truss in the world. It is also the longest bridge in the Baltimore area.

The bridge was opened in March 1977 and is named for the author of the Star Spangled Banner, Francis Scott Key. The span is 1,200 feet (366 m) long and carries an estimated 11.5 million vehicles annually.

We conceived of Building to Last back in 2016. At the time, we probably did not perceive them as our “core values” but we knew they were concepts that everyone could get behind.

Over the years we have promoted Building to Last in a variety of ways such as incorporating it into our logo, providing jobsite signage and holding special Building to Last events.

This year, we are taking it a step further by giving out awards to the people who best embody these core values of Building People, Projects, Clients and Community.

Today, we are happy to share the craft workers who were nominated and selected as this year's award winners.

What they all share is a positive attitude and a genuine desire to build great work.

Congratulations to following staff on this special recognition:

👏 Elizear Aguirre, Building Projects

👏 Jose Rivas, Building Projects

👏 Fredy Portillo, Building People

👏 Josh Bennett, Building People

We held our annual holiday party at the Westin Hotel in Annapolis this weekend. Over 150 ACE employees and their better halves came together for a night of food, drink and lots of awards!

This year we debuted our "Building To Last" Awards which goes to employees who best embody our core values of Building People, Projects, Clients and Community.

We also debuted a Gift Raffle and a few lucky partygoers came away with some great gifts including 2 Blackstone Griddles! In addition we gave out our Project of The Year awards and our long standing tradition of gag awards to celebrate some funny stories from over the year.

Project Manager Kate Polyakova cleaned up, winning the Building Clients Award, Small Project of The Year and topping it off by winning a table top Blackstone Griddle! Not bad for a nights work! Thanks to everyone at ACE for a great 2023!

Building Community is one of our four core values and it is all about fostering community ties through generous philanthropy of our team members.

A special shout out to Kellie Grimes and Hadiah Broady who led the charge in securing over $1,200 in donations from our staff (plus a full match from ACE!) to purchase and donate over 120 backpacks with school supplies to Prepare for Success - School Supplies Connection!

Prepare for Success has long been supported by local businesses, churches and civic groups. Today we had an amazing donation from a newcomer, American Contracting & Environmental Services. Hadiah and Kelly dropped off some of the 120 backpacks donated by the individual employees and the company.

It's not to late to join and help out. The students Thank You!

It’s common knowledge that the key to a productive work day is a hearty breakfast. Today we started a new tradition at ACE - “Godin’s Griddle”. We showed up in force at our Catonsville Pump Station project this morning at 5 am with the Blackstone.

All 4 essential food groups were represented - Bacon & Eggs, Hash Browns, Coffee and Donuts. The only problem was I was so busy griddling I forgot to get some pics of the field crew enjoying their breakfast sandwiches.

Thanks to the team at Catonsville for rolling out the red carpet including Justin Speigle, Brett Sweeney, Scott Flanigan, Kody VanFleet and Corey McCarthy. Can’t wait to do it again next month!
