Here’s how to build a dream DIY paver patio that will last.
Step 1: Plan it out.
Think about how the patio will be used, select the paver type, get the utilities marked, and get any necessary permits.

Step 2: Mark the layout and excavate the area.
Excavate roughly 8 to 10 inches deep. Make sure there is a proper slope of about 2% leading away from the house or building.

Step 3: Install fabric.
Overlap the seams by about 12 inches.

Step 4: Install the gravel base and compact it.
A solid gravel base should be about 6 inches thick

Step 5: Install the bedding layer.
This should be about 1 inch thick.

Step 6: lay the pavers.
Start from a straight edge, moving perpendicular from the house or building

Step 7: Install edge restraints.

Step 8: compact the pavers.

Step 9: Sweep in the jointing sand to bind the pavers together.

Step 10: Grade & seal for a seamless transition.
