Transformation Tuesday at Bigbee Construction: the newest unit in this 4-plex investment property located in Cedar Rapids. We leveled and refinished the drywall for a smoother, better-finished look, brand new cabinets and countertops, then brought back character through refinished hardwood floors and carefully placed new planks. Updated light fixtures complete the refresh, delivering a result that feels bright, welcoming, and ready for the long haul.

Progress update for our investment property located in Cedar Rapids: all 6 rooms now have fresh walls and ceilings, and we’ve repainted trim in 4 of the 6 rooms. We also built a new wall to create a proper hallway entrance to the bathroom, so the route is easier and more private than going through the bedroom. Next up: finish trim painting, add accent wall paint, repaint the cabinets with new hardware, complete the hallway walls, install the kitchen flooring, and install a couple of new entry doors.

💡 Tip Thursday

A remodeling project should never feel like a guessing game.

Before work begins, you should understand:
✔ What's included
✔ What's not included
✔ The expected timeline
✔ Payment schedule
✔ How changes will be handled if they come up

Clear expectations create smoother projects, fewer surprises, and happier homeowners.

Our goal is to make every client feel informed and confident from the first estimate to the final walkthrough.

Transformation Tuesday is in full swing, we'd like to share another investment property project for an amazing client. This is just 1/4 of the units we remodeled inside this 4-plex apartment. We flipped the bathroom and kitchen layouts and opened up a wall to bring a more open, connected concept to the space. We also refinished the hardwood and drywall as well as installed brand new countertops and cabinets. The result is outstanding. Great work to our entire team on delivering quality from start to finish.

Progress update: work is underway on the next deck over the living space in Iowa City. We’ve completed the demo in the designated area to get everything ready for T&K to install a rubber membrane slip system, designed to help keep water out of the home. After the membrane is fully finished, we’ll move to Deckorators composite decking to deliver a clean, durable final surface. Stay tuned for the next update.
