Drafter– Plastic Laminate Cabinet/Fixture Manufacturing
Advanced Cabinet Systems (ACS), a division of JGBowers, Inc. Marion, Indiana is seeking an entry level drafter/engineer. ACS is Indiana’s leading Plastic Laminate Casework and Plastic Laminate Retail Store fixture manufacturer. The drafter/engineer is responsible for the drafting and some engineering duties for division 6 and 12 casework, custom millwork and retail store fixture projects.
DRAFTER/ENGINEER
KPI – Job Performance Requirements
The successful Drafter must have the ability to do the following:
1. Read, interpret, and understand architectural drawings and specification documents
2. Quickly and accurately complete shop drawings in AutoCad with minimum supervision and guidance
3. Possess knowledge of Cut Rite software or equivalent/CNC machines
4. Have a general understanding of estimating and production as they relate to shop drawings, material yield, and labor
5. Produce well-written and effective email communication
6. Must maintain a positive attitude even in difficult circumstances
7. Must be a self-starter with excellent problem solving skills
8. Communicating with Management, Supervisors, peers, using proper chain of command
9. AutoCad Drafter/Engineer will identify possible problems with designs and construction and communicate with necessary departments
10. Ability to submit machining information to production via CAM software and tracking when the information was transferred
11. Create cut lists, bill of materials, packing lists, and any other documentation needed to complete a production packet
12. Ability to interpret architectural prints and specs, takeoff information, and any additional information from sales to properly communicate customer expectations to production
13. Be familiar with cabinet construction and drawing requirements to adhere to the industry’s governing bodies (AWI, QCP, LEED, FSC, etc.)
14. Provide pricing information for millwork and/or retail projects
15. Willingness to contribute above daily tasks to help the company to meet tight deadlines
16. Must produce top quality work
17. Must interact appropriately with internal and external customers
18. Must represent the company professionally in various venues
19. Ability to tell when something is wrong or likely to go wrong
20. Ability to analyze problems and develop solutions
21. Perform root cause analysis and develop proper countermeasures to prevent reoccurrence
22. Keep up with the latest trends in the areas of software, design, machining, and overall production

KPI – Technical Requirements
1.) Understand and apply complex math and measuring calculations necessary for use in your job
2.) Understand and utilize computer and technology necessary for your job
3.) Understand key computer programs used to complete your job
4.) Operate all necessary software including AutoCAD, CAM, Cut Rite, Excel, Word, Outlook, etc
5.) Furnish any miscellaneous supplies such as tape measure and architectural scale

QUALIFICATIONS
Experience required in Autocad, and CAM software
Autodesk Inventor experience a major plus
AutoCAD programming experience a plus
Estimating experience a plus
Knowledge of MS Office, specifically word, excel, and outlook
Effective oral and written communication skills
Innovative and self-motivated
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Sound knowledge of the retail store fixture industry and commercial construction industry
Great attitude and willingness to adapt to an ever-changing environment
Must take ownership of projects and be committed to positive outcomes

SALARY AND BENEFITS
JGBowers, Inc. DBA Advanced Cabinet Systems offers a competitive salary benefits package. The starting pay for this position is $17 to 20/hr DOEE and CAD proficiency level.
Must be proficient in CAD to be considered.
The position is a nonexempt, hourly position and some overtime may be required.
