President / Principal

Bart founded Monterey Peninsula Engineering in 1980. A graduate of the University of California at Berkeley, he is a registered professional engineer. Prior to MPE, Bart worked with Piombo Corporation and the Guy F Atkinson Company. Both firms were large, California general engineering contractors. Now semi-retired, Bart is responsible for investment activities and provides advice and guidance to the management team. James B. Bruno
Vice President / Principal, Construction Operations

Jim joined the firm in 1981. He has a broad range of skills and experience that spans across all aspects of the construction business. He is responsible for all field operations, including project management and coordination. Other duties include hiring, overseeing equipment acquisition and maintenance, and monitoring project safety. Jim holds a State of California, Contractors State “A” (General Engineering) License. Vice President / Principal, Engineering & Estimating

Peter is responsible for overseeing activities related to engineering, estimating, and contract negotiations. He also heads up the company’s development activities. Peter joined the firm in 1987 upon graduation from Cal Poly State University, San Luis Obispo, where he earned Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Peter holds a State of California, Contractors State “B”(General Building) License. Chief Financial Officer / Principal, Administration

Paul is responsible for all finance, risk management, legal and administrative duties. He oversees accounting, personnel matters and administers MPE’s safety program. Paul also heads up the firm’s public / governmental relations. A graduate of Cal Poly State University, San Luis Obispo, he came on board in 1989.
