All words that clients use when describing the work of Hawk & Co. Based in Los Angeles, CA, the young company brings to the table a cohesive set of skills by combining the partners’ wide range of project experience as well as dynamic customer service. Founded by Summer Jensen in 2009, Hawk & Co. After attending the University of San Francisco, she received her interior design degree from FIDM. Sum
mer’s international and domestic projects involve heading the interiors department for Commune Design, the firm responsible for Juicy Couture’s rebranding as well as project designer for Dodd Mitchell, the Hollywood A-lister responsible for such projects as the Roosevelt hotel, Cabo Azul Resort, Sushi Roku, and the Thompson Beverly Hills Hotel. In addition to her impressive portfolio and technical skill set, Summer cultivated her innate, signature design aesthetic growing up in the beautiful Hawaiian islands. Part native Hawaiian, Summer has always had a respect for nature as the only true artist of any given environment, albeit in the natural landscape or a man-made space. Her color palettes are consistent with the beach and mountains yet she is also known to remove color to let the natural surroundings take center stage. Light and shadow are also incorporated to reflect all moods of the day. Her familiarity with the exotic also gives her an inside edge over other designers who may not be so familiar with authentic design. A close proximity to Asia, different palettes and cultural motifs slant summer’s view of what is historic and what should be preserved.
