Everyone meet Kevin, a Mr. Plumber customer who recently had hard times hit him and his family. With Kevin's permission, we wanted to share a little about his story and experience with our team.
This is not about a "look what we did" post but rather a "look who we got to help" moment...and with all the negativity in the world, we wanted to spread some love and positivity!
What started off as a phone sale turned into a monumental moment for Kevin AND our team!
The call started as any other, Chris, one of our supervisors, began to ask questions to learn about what was happening at Kevin's house. Kevin began to explain that he's had multiple deaths in the family over the past 6 months, including his wife. Kevin was then diagnosed with cancer and has since inherited his mother's house after her passing. "It's just me and my 11-year-old daughter, Sophie, living here" Kevin said. As luck has it, the water heater busted and on top of everything else happening, losing their hot water was the last thing they needed.
Kevin continued telling Chris about the water heater, while failing to hold back emotions. Chris, listening with pure empathy, was ready to help and came up with a plan to get Kevin the best deal possible. Chris was able to work the estimate to $2000... but that would leave Kevin with very little money in his bank account. It wasn't ideal, but Kevin and his daughter needed hot water, so the deal was closed and the call ended.
After the call, Chris felt the heaviness of the situation, and it was quickly decided the plumbing team would do this water heater at no charge to Kevin. The plumbing team hoped this would save not only Kevin's financial situation but also the heaviness of the added stress that would be caused from this hefty charge.
Licensed plumber, Taiwan, was sent to Kevin's house yesterday afternoon and he not only had the pleasure of restoring Kevin's hot water, but he got to share that Mr. Plumber was going to take care of this at no charge! It was truly a moment both Kevin and our team will never forget!

Again, we are so thankful were able to help Kevin and Sophie restore their hot water and hopefully give them back some peace during these hard times.
Let's all remember to spread kindness where and when we can! We all need it- as much as we need hot water!
