It’s all in the details! This Western Red Cedar stained wood accent finishes off the roof gable and brings the whole exterior together.

We removed the existing soffit, added necessary blocking, and installed this accent piece using traditional Mortise and Tenon connections—ensuring a seamless look with no exposed fasteners.

TIMBER TRUSS & RIDGE WRAP INSTALLATION

Our most recent heavy timber truss installation was a fun one!

We were contacted to install two trusses along with a ridge wrap for a custom home in Brookhaven, GA.

Since the rooms already had sheetrock and tongue and groove hung, we had to be extremely careful with installation.

Our framers installed blocking into the roof rafters to support the weight of the timber trusses. Since the trusses are architectural items, instead of carrying any structural weight, the stick framing supports their weight. Each truss weighs 1200 lbs and was assembled on the floor of the room, lifted up into place and fastened into the blocking. All fastening was countersunk and plugged to ensure no exposed fasteners are visible.

Once the trusses were installed, we field-fabricated a ridge wrap out of the same wood as the trusses, giving these rooms a robust, cabin-like feel.
