Moving along with the bungalow, had to make a few changes to the roofline to accommodate a big beam that supports the old roof, lots of leveling and structural support added in the crawlspace to straighten everything out. Ready for roofing and mechanicals next week

Started this full renovation/remodel project a couple of months ago. There were 3 prior additions to the back of the house each had a lower ceiling than the one before resulting in the last addition having just more than 6 ft ceiling to floor. The roof construction didn’t allow lifting the ceiling and we had to reframe the whole back section of the roof. Permitting had to go through a whole review and delayed construction by about 3 weeks compared to a normal renovation project.

Midway progress, roof is dried in and electrical will start next week. We replaced the lap siding for the covered area with smooth Hardie siding for better indoor atmosphere but still retaining the resilience of fiber cement siding over drywall. Posts will be cladded in anodized aluminum with similar aluminum hand rails. Fireplace installation and tiling will start next week
