A few updates wrapped up on Fisher Lk. Some new porch post bases to add a little more flair to the entry. And then to the interior with an update to the entertainment center. Added a large storage drawer with features that tie into the overall style of the cabinetry better. Overall a nice little project for the books. Life threw some curveballs last few months- little more than normal. Some health and misc other issues. Weather has also played a big part. My scheduling got absolutely destroyed, projects got overlapped and I’m finally getting back on track. If you’re still waiting on a bid, just give me a little longer and it will be coming soon.
Finally got this one wrapped and ready for use. Some custom built bench cabinetry w/ shoe storage. Did the bench seats a little different than usual- had to dog proof the seats since it’s a favorite look-out window of theirs. Waterproof laminate flooring as the seat with an aluminum nosing to protect from nails. Topped off with a rough sawn wood wall cabinet, shiplap, and some decorative coat hooks to complete that hall tree look.

Ive been slow on the uploads😅! Here’s one wrapped up a couple weeks ago. Operation dining room to kitchen is a wrap. Homeowners decided to free up their original living room layout and move the kitchen to the dining area. This allowed the removal of a floating kitchen wall/peninsula and opened up the great room full length. The old kitchen was your standard 90s/early 2000s country oak with green counters. They were overdue for an update. Using my go-to Wolf shaker cabinetry and Carstin quartz counters courtesy of Statler Kitchen & Bath, we brought a ton of new light to the space. Custom chevron wood accents with a stove hood, central island, and peninsula face in a matte black finish to add some modern flair. Finished out with a modern tile backsplash and new floating plank floor.
The clients had a list of update projects including removing and old gas fireplace and updating the old oak stair railings. I whipped up some custom oak post wraps and finished out with iron spindles. It’ll be a great new space once the customers finish up their other DIY projects they plan to tackle. Here’s a classy little kitchen lost in the photo album from over the winter. Another colab with Jeff Statler and Statler Kitchen Bath & Home Center. Nice window view of Long Lk embellished by herringbone subway tile and carrera look quartz counters. Brushed gold hardware adorning the blue Show place cabinetry. Some nice cottage oak style plank flooring to round it out.
This is what your kitchen can look like by removing old ceiling bulkheads if your kitchen has them. This even had old dark cabinets hanging from them over the peninsula.

Another kitchen update off the books! Thank you Allen’s for trusting me with your project and treating me like family while going through the process. We were able to transform the previous old classic oak kitchen into this new 2 tone white and pewter gray design. Removed an old closet type pantry and replaced with built-in cabinetry aside refrigerator space. We extended the cabinetry towards the pass through opening for more storage and deleted the original 45 degree island and upgraded to a luxurious 7 foot shiplapped bar island. We deleted a wall opening looking into mudroom entry and replaced with rough sawn floating shelves and decorative lighting. Homeowners found a very old world looking brick tile for backsplash and wall accent, adding to the carriage style pendant lighting and vintage feel to this new Farm/French country style kitchen. Cabinets topped with a sleek marble look quartz countertop product. For added convenience flushed up the luxury vinyl flooring to the existing oak plank and did a transition strip delete for a seamless look. Thanks to Mike at Statler Kitchen Bath & Home Center for once again supplying great cabinetry and counter top options.

Just wrapped up a little family job in between some bigger projects. They had materials stashed away and ready to go. Nice little rustic barn style tile shower to go along with the galvanized metal ceilings and wainscot. Makes for a cool little guest bath in their farm style home. So here’s an over winter project that we just recently finished up last month. Dramatic change to this lake home on a beautiful lot on Dewey Lake. There is a ton of meticulous work that had to go into this remodeling project that just doesn’t show in the pictures. A couple rooms of work not shown for privacy as well. Another one of those show piece projects for my company and a perfect pair of customers to work for. They allowed me to cut loose my creativity on this one, but also had a ton of awesome ideas and inspirations as well. Perfect combination of function and design, the main living areas show it. The cabinet company even decided to photo shoot the transformation as well. Intertwined in the photos will be the before and afters. All the accent pieces in the rooms were put together by the homeowner as well. Thank you Dave and Julie for your trust in Detail In Design with your beautiful home.
