Chaetomium: An allergenic and pathogenic mold found in buildings with extensive water damage. It has cotton-like texture, gives off musty odor and can cause hay fever, asthma, and sinus problems. The mold changes color – from white to grey to brown and eventually black.

Cutting off moisture sources such as a water leak in the basement, attic, or roof is the best way to prevent the growth of Chaetomium.

Here is a look at a recent project. Notice our goal is to approach restoration in a strategic, surgical manner. The impacted drywall was removed, and we deployed equipment to treat the space. This ensures moisture and water don’t continue to damage building materials and allows restoration to happen in a properly dried environment.
