Construction Update: The Health and Wellness Center for Faith Christian Academy got their trademark logo as the exterior starts to become complete. Meanwhile, work inside includes electrical, plumbing, flooring and paint. I'm sure the students can't wait to check out this huge new center where they'll have classes, practices, physical therapy, weight training and new locker rooms!

Construction Update: Things are progressing well at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church on their beautiful new gathering space. The windows have been installed, architectural lighting is being put in, and paint and finishes are being applied. We can't wait to see the finished project, which will be done soon!

Congratulations to Choice Hotels International and Highside Development on the grand opening of their Everhome Suites in Somerset, NJ!

Speedwell team members Linford Burkholder (Project Manager), Logan Ojard (Project Engineer), Zach Brubaker (Superintendent), and Mark Strunk (Senior Vice-President) were on site to help celebrate the grand opening.

The 4-story hotel brings a total of 114 rooms to the area for long term stays and includes one and two bedroom suites with full kitchens with some even boasting in-suite laundry!

The Home2Suites in Raleigh. NC opened it's doors last week to the public! The 5-story building on the NW side of Raleigh, near the junction of Routes 70 and 440, has 120 suites with full kitchens for longer term stays. This is the first Home2Suites that Speedwell has completed for Hilton, a second location is currently under construction in State College, PA.

NEW PROJECT - Speedwell has begun work on another project for The Fred Bean Auto group. Fred Beans began small in 1959 with a service shop in Yardley, PA and now has 30 dealerships across PA and New Jersey. They sell 20 differents brands, have 7 CarSTAR Collision Centers, 2 Auto Express Quick Service Shops, and 4 AutoRent Locations

The property will join the family of dealerships in Exton, PA. The new complex will include a Ford Elite Commercial Service Center and a CarSTAR Collision Center adjacent to each other on the southwest side of Exton. Stay tuned for more construction updates and the works progresses!

Congratulations to Ben Deppen, who's been on the Speedwell Team for 10 years!

Ben is a local, who grew up here in Manheim, PA. He attended Penn State University and received a Bachelors of Architecture with a minor in Architectural History. While in college, he worked with a general contractor to gain construction knowledge. Ben joined the Speedwell team in 2016. He is a Registered Architect with Speedwell Design. He has over 20 years of experience in architectural design and construction including commercial, educational, industrial, senior care facilities, and ecclesiastical projects. He coordinated and manages the pre-construction design process for projects. He most enjoys revitalizing and rehabilitating old buildings.

Ben is married to Kami and are parents to 5 children. They live right on the square of Manheim in an historic home. Away from the office, Ben enjoys spending time with his family, working on carpentry projects and constructing theatrical sets with his wife.

Some projects are about more than construction. They’re about preserving history and supporting the spaces where important decisions are made every day.

We’re proud to partner with the Pennsylvania Capitol Preservation Committee to renovate offices within the State Capitol, helping maintain a landmark that serves all Pennsylvanians. The building was dedicated in 1906 by President Theodore Roosevelt and for 80 years it was the tallest building between Philadephia and Pittsburgh!

Designed by Joeseph Hutton, the building incorporates various Renaissance styles, including Italian, French and English. Crews have begun working on renovating some rooms on the first floor, carefully preserving finishes, floors, and fixtures while giving the offices a refresh.

Framing is taking place at the Home2Suites by Hilton in State College, PA. This new hotel will provide 115 rooms in a 4 story building for Penn State fans and university families attending home football games at Beaver Stadium. Due to the massive influx of fans, tailgaters, and visitors, the overall population of State College can swell from its usual 41,000 to over 230,000 on game days, so more hotel rooms will definitely come in handy for the area!
