Excited to share in the success of our parent company, Stable Hollow Construction. A well deserved award for the entire team.

Stable Hollow Construction is honored to have received the 2024 Maryland Preservation Award for Excellence in Rehabilitation for our restoration of The Claggett Center barn in Adamstown, MD.

This 1898 Pennsylvania bank barn was transformed into a four-season gathering space—with full ADA accessibility, a commercial kitchen, and modern systems—without sacrificing its soul. The project pushed preservation forward, advocating successfully for the interior timber frame and original features to be recognized as the barn’s most critical character-defining elements.

Thanks to a dedicated team—including Douglass Reed (historical consultant), Lisa Dell’Olio (architect), and the Maryland Historical Trust—we were able to help set a new precedent for how barns are evaluated in tax credit programs.
