From framing to finished, this is what Different By Design looks like in action.

What started as Tyvek wrap and gravel became a home with real character: gray brick, a dark front door, white columns on the porch, and landscaping that ties it all together.

This one's ready for Sunday mornings, holiday hosting, and everything in between.

There's a moment on every build where it stops looking like lumber and starts looking like a home. This is that moment.

Right now, you can stand in what will be the living room and already picture the couch pushed against that far wall, morning light coming through where the big windows go, kids running past on their way to the backyard. The walls aren't up yet, but the life that's going to happen here already feels real.

That's the part of this job we never get tired of. Watching a family walk through framing and go quiet for a second because they can finally see it.

Following along with a build of your own, or just love this stage as much as we do?

Some of our favorite family moments happen outside the house, not inside it.

When we design a home, we think about how the backyard fits into daily life too. Where does the grill go? Is there a spot for a swing set? Can you see the yard from the kitchen while you're cooking dinner?

A well-planned layout connects your indoor and outdoor spaces so summer barbecues and quiet evenings on the patio feel like a natural part of the home, not an afterthought.

What does your ideal backyard look like?

It starts as lines on a blueprint.

Then comes framing. Then comes walls that finally look like rooms.

Watching a custom home come together, from an idea on paper to a place a family will fill with memories, never gets old. This is why we love what we do.

Flooring, cabinetry, countertops, tile, hardware....

Every finish you choose is a small decision that adds up to a home that actually feels like yours. This is the part of the process where your personality gets to show up in every room.

A dedicated home office can make a big difference in how you work from home. 💻

We had a little fun with this one and used AI to show how this space could be transformed into a home office. It’s a great example of how a blank room can become a space designed around the way you live and work.

With a custom home, you can plan your workspace around your routine, whether that means built-in storage, natural light, a quiet place to focus, or room to stay organized.

Designed for everyday life, a thoughtfully planned mudroom can give you a dedicated place for shoes, coats, bags, and everything your family brings through the door.

With a custom home, you can design the space around your family's routine and create storage that actually works for you.

Choosing your countertops and paint colors is fun, but that's not what makes a home custom. True customization happens earlier, in the layout, the flow, the features built around how your family actually lives. Finishes personalize a house. Design decisions are what make it truly yours.
