INTERESTING
FARM AND HOMESTEAD
FACTS OF THE DAY

A.I. Overview.

1. It takes one hive of bees about 55,000 miles of flight—the equivalent of circling the Earth's equator twice—to produce just one pound of honey. The Busy Bee: Producing a single pound of honey requires bees to visit roughly 2 million flowers.

2. Fast Runners: Pigs can sprint at speeds fast enough to run a one-mile race in about 7 minutes.

3. Travel-Sized Cattle: Miniature Hereford cattle are bred specifically for small homesteads, eating less than full-sized cows while still filling a freezer with beef.

4. Botanical Surprises: Bananas, eggplants, and pomegranates are actually classified as berries, while strawberries are not.

I'm such a nerd. I love learning about interesting facts like these that also pertain to our daily life. It helps us to not only appreciate the animals and their sacrifices but also how these different ecosystems work in such a harmonic balance to make this Earth what it is. Nothing has been created in vain. It all works together for the good of those who love the Father and even those who don't. ♥️🙏♥️

Zone 9 Backyard pond food forage fish ideas

(A.I.Overview)
1. Bluegill (Native or Coppernose): The backbone of a sweetwater pond; they act as great forage and double as fun panfish to catch.

2. Redear Sunfish (Shellcrackers): These bottom-feeders eat snails and crustaceans, keeping parasite numbers down without competing directly with bluegill for the same food.

3. Channel Catfish: Fast-growing scavengers that thrive in Louisiana waters, great for a "put-and-take" fishery.

4. Tilapia or Grass Carp: Often added temporarily or with permits for aggressive w**d and algae control, though tilapia will die off if water drops below 60°F in Winter.
