s. After 48 hours at a minimum, I download the data and the test gives me an average of radon in your home. Concentrations of radon are measured in units of Picocuries per Liter (pCi/L). These concentrations are potentially harmful. The estimated risk of lung cancer from radon concentrations are:

4pCi/L --- 7 out of 1000 -- 62 out of 1000
8pCi/L -- 15 out of 1000 -- 120 out of 1000

If your test comes back elevated the EPA recommends that at levels of 4pCi/L or higher you mitigate the radon from your house. Mitigation is the process or system used to reduce radon concentrations in the breathing zones of occupied buildings. In most cases radon levels can be mitigated by the means of 1 of the 4 soil suction systems. These systems are sub-slab, drain tile, sub-membrane, and block wall.
