Active Radon Management

Active Radon Management We provide radon testing & custom designed mitigation systems for new construction & existing homes. The test we do is simple. This where I come in.

We here at Active Radon Management are concerned about the indoor air quality for your family. Radon gas enters your house through cracks and holes in your basement. This gas concentration can range differently from house to house. Your neighbor and yourself will most likely not have the same level of concentration. I set a monitor in your home that measures the radon in your air on an hourly basi

s. After 48 hours at a minimum, I download the data and the test gives me an average of radon in your home. Concentrations of radon are measured in units of Picocuries per Liter (pCi/L). These concentrations are potentially harmful. The estimated risk of lung cancer from radon concentrations are:

LEVEL -- NON-SMOKERS -- SMOKERS
4pCi/L --- 7 out of 1000 -- 62 out of 1000
8pCi/L -- 15 out of 1000 -- 120 out of 1000
10pCi/L -- 18 out of 1000 -- 150 out of 1000
20pCi/L -- 36 out of 1000 -- 260 out of 1000

If your test comes back elevated the EPA recommends that at levels of 4pCi/L or higher you mitigate the radon from your house. Mitigation is the process or system used to reduce radon concentrations in the breathing zones of occupied buildings. In most cases radon levels can be mitigated by the means of 1 of the 4 soil suction systems. These systems are sub-slab, drain tile, sub-membrane, and block wall. It is best to let a qualified radon professional decide which system is right for your home. I am an NRPP (National Radon Proficiency Program) certified professional. I fit your home with a custom build system. Every home is different and knowing what you need to mitigate your radon is very important. If you have any questions please call me.
