We are a small (on purpose) company located in Southwest Colorado. We design, erect and enclose custom, traditionally-joined timber frame homes (cut by hand with mallet and chisel and then pegged together with mortise and tenon joinery). Although most of our work is in the Southwest and Rocky Mountain region of the US, we have raised frames as far away as Pennsylvania and will be working in Fairba
nks, Alaska this summer. All of our employees come from other professions and were drawn to timber framing by the art and craftsmanship of the trade. While there are many choices in timber frame companies, we feel like the experience of working with us is unique. We work closely with our clients through the design process and continue to keep in touch long after we have packed up our tool trailer. We are proud to be intimately involved in each of our projects. The same people who cut the frame are the ones who will be driving pegs at a raising. We typically camp on a job site and take turns cooking rather elaborate meals in the evenings making the frame raising more of an experience than a job. At the end of the raising, there are usually several hours spent standing under the frame admiring and debriefing the finished product. Each of our timber frames is unique and we look for the small things that we can do to continually improve in our craft. If you have some time, we hope you could explore our website to see some examples of our work. It also contains an extensive design section to give you ideas for starting the floor plan of your custom timber frame home. We would be happy to answer any questions that may arise as you move along the path to your frame raising.
