Another custom home taking shape at Custom Structure Designs.

This traditional New England Colonial was designed with clean proportions, classic detailing, and a simple, timeless exterior that will still look right decades from now. The covered front entry, black shutters, warm siding, and traditional landscaping give the home the character of an established New England property while keeping the overall design practical for modern living.

One of my favorite parts of the design process is taking a set of floor plans and turning them into something the homeowner can actually visualize before construction begins. Renderings like this allow us to work through the exterior appearance, materials, proportions, and details long before anything is built.

If you're considering a new home, addition, garage, or major renovation, Custom Structure Designs can take your ideas from the initial concept through a complete set of construction and permit drawings.

Sometimes the right home isn’t perfect when you first walk through the door — it just needs the right vision.

An outdated layout, a house that’s a little too small, or a property without the garage or primary suite you wanted doesn’t necessarily mean it’s the wrong house.

At Custom Structure Designs, we help homeowners turn that potential into a real plan — from additions and major renovations to garages, accessory buildings and complete custom homes.

And with detailed 3D renderings, you can see what your project can become before construction ever begins.

Luxury isn’t limited to the main house.

This custom shed was designed to feel like a natural extension of the property—not an afterthought. Thoughtful proportions, architectural detailing, and carefully selected materials transform a simple outbuilding into a structure that complements the character of the home and adds to the overall property.

At Custom Structure Designs, we believe even the smallest buildings deserve good architecture.

From custom homes and additions to garages, pool houses, sheds, and other accessory structures, we design every project with the same attention to detail.

At Custom Structure Designs, we believe good design should be thoughtful, functional, and grounded in an understanding of how buildings are actually constructed.

We provide residential and commercial design services throughout Connecticut and neighboring New England states, working with homeowners, contractors, developers, and business owners from initial concept through detailed construction documents.

Our residential work includes custom new homes, additions, renovations, and kitchen design, with a particular appreciation for the character and traditions of New England architecture. We strive to create homes that feel timeless while providing the comfort, functionality, and amenities expected in modern living.

We also provide commercial design services, including new spaces, renovations, tenant improvements, and alterations. Our goal is to create practical, attractive spaces that meet the needs of the people and businesses that use them.

In addition to design, Custom Structure Designs offers building code consulting and plan review services. As a Connecticut Licensed Building Official, I bring years of experience with building codes, permitting, plan review, and construction to every project. Understanding code requirements early in the design process can help identify potential issues before they become expensive problems during permitting or construction.

From custom homes and additions to kitchens, commercial spaces, and code consulting, Custom Structure Designs brings design experience, construction knowledge, and code expertise together under one roof.

Here’s a look at a custom cabinetry rendering for a new single-family home we’re finishing up. Thoughtful cabinetry and interior details are an important part of creating a home that feels cohesive from the architecture all the way through the finished spaces.

At Custom Structure Designs, we help homeowners visualize these details before construction begins, so the finished home looks and functions the way it was intended.
