We’re just wrapping up a total kitchen remodel. New sheet rock, new insulation, new subfloor, and of course cabinets, countertops and hardwood flooring. The coffee bar was a nice touch, and the retro bar stools give it a pop of color. The tile backsplash will be installed soon.

Our family highly recommends AC Gunn Builders. Our 45 year old 2nd home was in dire need of renovations. Ansel transformed our 80s interior home into a modern townhome. His artistic flare combined with carpentry skills made our family vacation home a place we will all enjoy for years to come. Overall, Ansel was accessible and easy to work with throughout our renovations. We spoke on a regular basis and Ansel continually updated us with phone calls, texts and pictures. We felt at ease with him working in our home while we were out of state for the entire renovations.

From an exposed florescent fixture, to sleek recessed lighting. Blonde laminate becomes a dark manufactured stone, provided by Just Kitchen and Bath. Pine cabinets change to a contemporary style and color. Dated laminate is replaced with black Brazilian slate. As an added bonus, the opening between counters and cabinets has been widened to better connect the kitchen and dining areas.

The design of this whole house remodel came together over time, and we couldn’t be happier with the end result. Julie Easton, from Just Kitchen and Bath, was a pleasure to work with as always, and the cabinets and countertops gave the place the up to date, contemporary feel we were looking for. The home was screaming for a comprehensive update that would bring it into the 21st century. Rather than replace all of the natural fir elements that were present, we decided to embrace them, by adding more warm wood to add visual interest, and create a space that was a synthesis of both the modern and the rustic.

I have many different techniques for fabricating shower niches, and none of them require metal transition strips. I don’t like the look, and avoid them at all costs. Essentially, the solid stone is dadoed and assembled like a wooden shelf. I think it makes a clean, substantial looking shower recess.

We’re just wrapping up two bathrooms in Winhall. Nothing left to do but a skim coat of plaster and fresh paint.
