Another great year at the 2026 Tilt-Up Convention & Expo!
Biju, Emerson, Steve, Ferdy, and Luke represented Southland Concrete at this year’s event in Salt Lake City, Utah.
The convention provided a great opportunity to connect with industry professionals, explore new innovations, share experiences, and bring back valuable ideas to help us continue improving our operations, safety practices, and overall performance.
We are also proud to share that Southland Concrete was once again recognized with the Alphonse Engelman Safety Award, marking our 10th time receiving this honor! Our team proudly accepted the award at the Awards Gala on behalf of everyone at Southland.
Thank you to Tilt-Up Concrete Association for another great event, and to our team for representing Southland!

Great day at Virginia Tech connecting with students and talking about internship opportunities with Southland Concrete.
We’ve been fortunate to have some great Hokies join us as interns in the past, and we’re looking forward to meeting the next group of students interested in gaining hands-on experience in commercial construction.
Thanks to everyone who stopped by to learn more about Southland and what a career in concrete construction can offer.

👏 Congratulations to Luis Lizano for being recognized as Site PTP Safety Champ of the Week on one of our projects!

Luis was recognized for demonstrating exceptional leadership in the field, actively engaging in pre-planning, clearly communicating the plan with his crew, and making sure the work was executed safely.

At Southland, our foremen set the tone every day. Strong safety performance starts with strong leadership, preparation, and accountability in the field.
Luis is a great example of what that looks like.

The Builder’s Foundation supports local charities, with a special emphasis on helping women and children. Southland Concrete is proud to support such a great cause and honored to be part of an event that gives back to our local community.

Last week, our Safety Manager, Levi Bonilla led an OSHA 30-Hour Course for our leadership, equipping them with the knowledge and tools needed to strengthen our safety culture and lead by example. 👷🏼‍♂️👷🏽‍♀️

The advanced 4-day training program focused on hazard recognition, accident prevention, workplace safety best practices, and OSHA compliance... empowering our leaders to create and maintain safer work environments for everyone.

Key benefits of the training included:
•Enhanced understanding of workplace hazards and risk mitigation
•Improved ability to implement and support effective safety programs
•Greater awareness of OSHA regulations and compliance requirements
•Promotion of a stronger, proactive safety culture
•Earning a nationally recognized OSHA 30 certification upon completion
