How much does a home elevator cost in Virginia?
As the graphic shows, a traditional residential elevator or through-the-floor system can fall between $25,000 and $50,000 installed. A high-end residential elevator with add-ons like automatic landing doors generally falls in the $50,000 to $80,000 range, while a luxury home elevator can start around $80,000 and go up from there.
Floors count too. Based on industry pricing for materials and labor, each additional floor in an elevator will increase the overall cost by approximately $5,000 to $15,000. The cost of retrofitting an existing building is also likely to be much greater than attaching one to new construction. But here is the thing a lot of people don’t take into account.
A typical kitchen remodeling project in Northern Virginia costs between $100,000.00 and $150,000.00, or more. Cabinetry alone will account for 25%-35% of the total kitchen remodeling project budget. Remember, elevators add significantly to a home's value, based on available data. So in most cases, it’s less than a kitchen, with far greater upside.
