A major milestone was reached this week on the Popes Head Interchange Project in Fairfax County! On May 27, the traffic signal at Popes Head Road and Fairfax County Parkway was officially taken out of service, marking an important step toward improving safety and mobility along the corridor.

Thank you to Supervisor Pat Herrity from Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, VDOT, and the project team for helping recognize this exciting moment. Proud to be part of this effort to deliver lasting infrastructure improvements for Fairfax County.

After a long day at work, RDA Virginia Beach went and saw "Michael" at the theater to kick back and unwind. We are glad to be engineers, we couldn't beat it as vocalists, but we sang along anyways and had a great night out!

Rinker Design Associates, LLC, as lead designer with Triton Construction, Inc., has been selected by the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) for the $237.75M Interstate 81 widening project in Roanoke County and Salem, a major investment aimed at improving safety, capacity, and travel reliability along one of Virginia’s most critical freight and commuter corridors.
The project includes widening approximately 3.2 miles of I-81 between mile marker 133.8 and Exit 137 as part of VDOT’s broader I-81 Corridor Improvement Program. Our work takes us outdoors year-round, and spring always brings a different perspective to the field.

During recent inspections, we’ve shared the path with growing wildlife families: turtles along the waters, ducks with ducklings, and geese guiding their goslings nearby. These moments are a reminder that infrastructure and natural environments are closely connected, and thoughtful project work helps both communities and ecosystems thrive.
