When septic manhole covers are exposed, universal septic locks and chains should be installed to help prevent accidents and keep the covers secure.

If the covers are buried beneath the ground, locks and chains are not required, but warning labels should still be attached to the covers for safety.

If your septic covers are missing these safety features, contact us. We can install them to help keep your system safe and up to code.

Our team recently replaced the septic tanks for a longtime customer after signs of deterioration were discovered.

The first photo shows the inside of the old tank. We found the deterioration while performing the county-mandated POWTS inspection after the tank was pumped. The homeowner decided to take action right away before the problem continued to worsen.📷

Help protect your septic system by keeping non-septic-safe materials out. Even if a product says “flushable,” it probably isn’t! Wipes, hygiene products, dental floss, and medications can clog your pipes and lead to costly repairs.

A good rule of thumb: If it isn’t septic-safe toilet paper, toss it in the trash. 🗑️

Routine pumping is one of the best ways to protect your septic system! 🏠

Pumping removes accumulated sludge and solids before they can reach the outlet pipe, enter the drainfield, or contribute to a backup. Pumping the tank also allows us to better evaluate its condition during your POWTS inspection.

Although inspection only service may be appropriate for certain vacant or very low-occupancy properties, we recommend completing your pumping and POWTS inspection together for most occupied homes.
