1. Painting latex over oil
This is one of the most common (and costly) mistakes. Oil-based paint creates a slick, non-porous surface. Latex paint needs something to grab onto, and without proper prep and a bonding primer, it simply won’t stick. It might look fine at first… but give it a little time and you’ll start seeing peeling, bubbling, or full-on failure.
