Find out why Walter Hood is on this year’s list

We just completed our 2nd annual burn of our homemade prairie! 🔥

Started in 2018, when we stopped mowing and started planting natives. Contracted our first burn in 2025, followed with a seeding of natives to outcompete the cool season grasses.

This year, we'll see what comes up, and adjust accordingly!

During this time, we've already noticed an increase in songbirds, dragonflies, lightening bugs and varieties of bees. And, a pretty big decrease in mosquitoes! 🍀

Stay tuned for updates as this season progresses...

And Happy 2nd week of World Landscape Architecture month!

I’m truly honored to be featured in Canvas Rebel Magazine! 💚

Sharing company with the entrepreneurs and creatives they spotlight is such a meaningful highlight of my career.

To my family, teachers, bosses, mentors, clients, colleagues, and friends—I’m so grateful. You’re a part of this story too 💚💚💚

Every day, I strive to “make room for love,” and getting to do that through the lens of landscape architecture is the most fun I could imagine.

What a beautiful way to kick off World Landscape Architecture Month! 🌿

"...Beauty plays an important role — it helps people emotionally connect to landscapes. Through that connection, people are more likely to value the biodiversity that makes places beautiful and functional. And then they are more likely to invest in protecting and restoring landscapes..."

ASLA has formally adopted the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP) at the request of the Indigenous Collective Group (ICG).

This step strengthens our commitment to partnership, respect, and shared purpose with Indigenous communities. Adopted on Indigenous Peoples’ Day, it builds on a year of collaboration with the ICG, whose advocacy continues to guide ASLA’s work to co-create a future that heals land and culture.

By aligning with UNDRIP, ASLA reaffirms its support for Indigenous rights, Traditional Ecological Knowledge, and the protection and restoration of ecosystems.

We extend our gratitude to the entire ICG for their advocacy efforts.
