The island in this kitchen is Alder finished in Shipboard—that adds warmth without creating a heavy contrast against the white perimeter cabinetry.

We treated it as its own furniture piece, using paneled ends and turned legs to separate it visually from the working cabinetry around the room. The rest of the kitchen remains quiet and tailored: overlay construction, integrated appliances, a custom hood, warm brass hardware, and storage carried all the way to the ceiling.

This feels less like a bathroom vanity and more like a beautifully appointed dressing room. Soft cabinetry, curved mirrors, warm brass, and a sweep of marble create a space that feels feminine without being precious—and polished without feeling overly formal.

Sherwin-Williams Urbane Bronze gives this kitchen its structure, wrapping the perimeter cabinetry and custom hood in a deep, architectural finish. Dark Walnut stain on Alder brings warmth to the island and display cabinet, while aged-brass hardware and mesh introduce just enough contrast.

The contrast is substantial without feeling stark—dark painted cabinetry, richly stained wood, pale stone, and details that reward a closer look.

This is what happens when a beverage center is treated like a room of its own.

The cabinetry provides storage for glassware, serving pieces, drinks, and everyday necessities, while reeded glass softens what is displayed behind the upper doors. Floating wood shelves break up the blue-gray finish and create space for the personal pieces that make the cabinetry feel connected to the home.

It works hard. It simply does not look like it has to.

Open, it becomes a walnut serving shelf positioned directly beneath the built-in coffee system.

It is a small detail, but a useful one: additional workspace exactly where it is needed, without permanently taking up space in the room. This is the kind of feature that begins with a conversation about how someone will actually use their kitchen.

When looking at the length of this primary bath, it is obvious the vanity needed enough presence to anchor the entire wall. We kept the form symmetrical and the finish quiet, then used reeded fronts to give the cabinetry depth against the charcoal backdrop. The contrast does most of the visual work, allowing the arched mirrors and aged-brass details to settle naturally into the composition.

Somewhere between a bathroom vanity and a piece of furniture—which is exactly where a vanity in a luxury home should land. The reeded front, open slatted shelf, and stone top give this practical piece a lighter, more tailored presence in the room.
