Most lawns need 1 inch of water per week, but most homeowners are just guessing. Here is a simple trick to dial in your irrigation timer:

Mark it: Grab a small container (like a tuna can) and mark a line at 1/4 inch.

Test it: Place the container in your yard and turn on your sprinklers.

Time it: See how long it takes to reach that mark, then multiply by 4.

That is your total weekly run time!

Pro Tip: It is much better to do 1–2 deep watering sessions than 5 short ones. This forces water deep into the root zone, creating a healthier, more drought-resistant lawn. 🌿
