Roofing season is upon us, and we’re off to a strong start today and pushing to be done by Friday.

This home had two layers of shingles installed over the years. While it may seem cheaper to roof over an existing system, it often creates major issues down the road.

A proper roofing system starts by stripping everything down to the roof deck so the correct underlayment and materials can be installed the right way. Without that, you can’t truly guarantee the roof will perform the way it’s designed to.

This roof alone was carrying an extra 3,360 lbs of unnecessary weight. Add in a heavy Maine winter and snow load, and that’s a lot of extra stress on a structure that was never designed for it.

Do it once. Do it right. Protect your home for the long haul.
