⚠️ BEFORE YOU HIRE A CHIMNEY COMPANY, READ THIS ⚠️
Many of the companies ranking at the top of Google aren’t actually chimney companies at all. They’re lead generation companies whose sole purpose is to collect your information and sell it to contractors.
The problem? When something goes wrong, it can be difficult to determine who is actually responsible.
Who inspected the chimney?
Who recommended the repair?
Who performed the installation?
Who carries the insurance?
Many homeowners assume they’re dealing with one company, only to discover later that the work was subcontracted or sold to another business entirely.
And unfortunately, we’ve seen technicians performing inspections, liner installations, and masonry repairs with little understanding of current chimney codes and safety requirements.
Here’s a simple rule:
✅ Before any job larger than a basic chimney sweep, ask for a Certificate of Insurance (COI).
A legitimate contractor should be able to provide proof of General Liability and Workers’ Compensation coverage before work begins.
If they’re replacing a liner, rebuilding masonry, installing a cap, performing flashing work, or making structural repairs, you should know exactly who is working on your home and exactly who is insured if something goes wrong.
Protect your home.
Protect your wallet.
Verify who you’re hiring.
At Coastal Chimney Sweeps, when you call us, you’re dealing directly with the company performing the work—not a lead broker, call center, or middleman.
