🌻 MONDAY MORNING RESTOCK 🌻

The flowers are out, the stand is stocked, and it’s Monday.

Fellas… this one’s for us. 😂

It’s back-to-school season. Schedules are changing, mornings are hectic, everybody’s trying to get back into a routine, and there’s a pretty good chance the lady in your life has already dealt with more nonsense today than you know about.

So here’s your reminder:

You don’t need a reason to bring her flowers.

You don’t need an anniversary. You don’t need a birthday. And you definitely don’t need to wait until you screwed something up. 😂

Swing by. Grab a few sunflowers. Take them home and tell her you were thinking about her.

A couple bucks and five minutes of effort on our end can go a surprisingly long way on theirs.

And if her Monday already sucks?

Well… let a little Turtle Creek sunshine in. 🌻☀️

The stand is stocked and ready.

Happy Monday, everybody.

Michael

🌻 SATURDAY MORNING = FARMERS MARKET TIME! 🌻

We’re set up and ready to go at the Clinton County Farmers Market this morning!

The buckets are full, the sunflowers are looking absolutely beautiful, and we’ve got plenty of fresh-cut blooms ready to head home with you. 🌻

And apparently I’m flying solo today, so come buy some flowers and talk my ear off. 😂 Seriously. Hang out for a minute. Tell me about your garden. Tell me about your weekend. Tell me something completely random. I’m here for it.

🌻 GOOD MORNING FROM THE CLINTON COUNTY FARMERS MARKET! 🌻

We are set up, stocked, and ready for another beautiful Saturday morning in Wilmington!

We brought a great selection of fresh-cut sunflowers this morning, along with something a little different — sunflower heads that have been drying for seed. Take one home for the birds, harvest the seeds, roast them, save them for planting… whatever you decide, they’re yours to enjoy. 🌻

Come see us this morning from 8:30–Noon on Courthouse Square and take home a little piece of the sunflower field.

And swipe over for a little behind-the-scenes look at market morning — because there’s always more happening underneath the tables than you see from the front. 😂

🌻 That’s a wrap for tonight! 🌻

The cutting is done, the flowers are in, and everything came together just about perfectly today.

And man… I picked A LOT of flowers tonight. 😂

There are some absolutely beautiful blooms headed to Wilmington tomorrow—including some of the darkest sunflowers I’ve grown yet. That nearly-black one tucked into this photo? 👀 That’s the closest I’ve gotten so far in my chase for a truly black sunflower.

And something a little different for tomorrow…

🌻 SUNFLOWER HEADS! 🌻

Along with all the fresh-cut stems, I’m bringing three different varieties of cut sunflower heads that have been drying for seed harvest. I’ve been saving heads over the last few weeks, and tomorrow I’m bringing a bunch of them along to the market.

What you do with one once you get it home? That’s entirely up to you. 😁

Best part of tonight, though? I’ve got Elliot with me, the work is finished, and we’re ready to call it a night.

I cannot wait for tomorrow.

That’s a wrap. We’ll see you in the morning at the Clinton County Farmers' Market🌻

🌻 Fresh Cut Friday! 🌻

The stand is stocked and ready for the day with fresh-cut sunflowers from this morning!

Today we’ve made it extra easy — the sunflowers are already banded and bundled in bunches of 5, so just grab a bundle (or two 😉) and go! 🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻

We were already cutting and bundling flowers for orders last night, so we figured we’d keep it simple and stock the stand the same way this morning.

And a reminder — we’ll see everybody tomorrow at the Clinton County Farmers Market in Wilmington! We’ll be there from 8:30 AM–Noon with plenty of fresh-cut sunshine.

Farm cats have nothing on a Farm Weimaraner. If it ain’t supposed to be in the garden she’s chasing it away or eating it.

Last night it’s a bobcat, today it’s a snake. 🤷

🌻⛈️ Well… that was fun. 😂

That storm absolutely SMASHED us.

It looks like we picked up somewhere around 3 inches of rain in a hurry, along with enough wind to give the sunflower field a pretty good beating.

We definitely took some losses. Most of the seed-stock sunflowers that were still standing went down, but thankfully I’ve been harvesting mature seed heads as they’ve been ready — including a pretty big cut just a few days ago. Turns out that was some pretty good timing. 😅

The ProCut field took a hit too. I’d guess somewhere around 30–40% of what’s currently blooming got knocked down.

But here’s the good part…

There are still a LOT of sunflowers standing. 🌻🌻🌻

I walked the field after the storm expecting it to look a whole lot worse than it does. They’re wet, they’re leaning, some are flat on their faces… but plenty of them apparently decided they weren’t going anywhere.

That’s farming.

Sometimes you grow flowers.

Sometimes Mother Nature comes through and rearranges them for you. 😂

We took a hit tonight, but Turtle Creek Farm & Flower is still standing — and so are a whole bunch of stubborn sunflowers. 🌻💪

🌻 WE’RE OPEN! 🌻

Well… we got the stand cleaned up, reset, and loaded back down with fresh flowers a little earlier than planned today.

Between the heat rolling in and a chance of rain, getting it knocked out early seemed like the smart move. 😂

And man… those flowers are PRETTY today. 😍🌻

Everything is fresh, the stand is cleaned up, and we are officially OPEN for the day!

Swing by, grab some flowers, and brighten up your Monday. 🌻✌️

🌻 HAPPY MONDAY FROM TURTLE CREEK FARM & FLOWER! 🌻

What a weekend.

Saturday morning had us back at the Clinton County Farmers Market in Wilmington, and once again, you all made it a great morning. We saw a bunch of familiar faces coming back for more flowers, met plenty of new ones, and got to spend another Saturday morning talking sunflowers with some pretty awesome people. 🌻

We also had three bulk flower orders go out over the weekend, including flowers for a baby shower. There’s something incredibly cool about knowing flowers grown right here on the farm get to become a small part of somebody else’s big moments. 💛

And because apparently there weren’t enough things happening already… I even managed to sneak in some time for The Hobbit prerelease for Magic: The Gathering. 🧙‍♂️🌻

Keep it secret. Keep it safe.

Then it was back to reality. 😂

Last night I finally got the mowing knocked out back in the fields, and this morning we’re taking a few hours to reset the stand, do some maintenance, clean things up, and get ready for another week.

🌻 The roadside stand will be CLOSED this morning.

I’ll be cutting fresh flowers and restocking everything today, and we should be OPEN again around 3 PM this afternoon with fresh-cut flowers ready to go.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by the market, placed an order, took flowers home, told somebody about us, or simply stopped to say hello.

Another busy weekend in the books.

Now let’s see what this week brings. 🌻

Happy Monday, everyone!

Per aspera ad astra,
Michael
