Meet Michelle: The Woman Behind MAC Designs 🌿
I realized that while I’ve been showing you all my designs lately, some of you don’t really know the person behind them. So I thought it was time to introduce myself. 😊
I’m Michelle, and MAC Designs actually began about 16 years ago as my interior painting business. For years I painted homes, repaired walls, helped people choose colors and eventually fell in love with refinishing vintage furniture too.
Creating has really been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I’ve always loved taking something ordinary, overlooked or a little worn and imagining what it could be. Give me an old piece of furniture, a beautiful color palette, a quilt pattern or a room that needs some love, and my mind immediately starts working.
MAC has a special meaning too. They’re my initials, but they’re also the first letters of my three children’s names: Madison, Abigail and Charles. So my family has quietly been tucked inside the name of my business all along. ❤️
Over the years life has changed, and I’ve had to change with it. I don’t have the space to paint and refinish furniture the way I once did, but I discovered something along the way:
I still need to create.
So MAC Designs began a new chapter.
These days I’m designing pillows, tea towels, candles, notepads, garden flags and home accents inspired by the things I’ve always loved: old quilts, farmhouse homes, flowers, vintage pieces, beautiful colors and those little details that make a house feel like home.
And one of the things I’ve enjoyed most is having all of you become part of the process. When I ask you to choose between colors, vote on designs or tell me which one you’d put in your own home, I really do pay attention. Sometimes you’ve even changed my mind! 😂
I’m still building MAC Designs one idea at a time and figuring things out as I go. I don’t know exactly where this little business will lead, but I’m enjoying seeing it grow into something new while still carrying pieces of where it began.
So if you’ve been here since the painting and furniture days, thank you for sticking with me. And if you just discovered MAC Designs recently, welcome. I’m really glad you’re here. 💜
Now I’m curious... how did you find my page?
