The UGLY side of lawn maintenance.

Scalping the lawn, aerating, and throwing down some seed to help new grass germinate. It might not look pretty at first, but trust the process! Sometimes a little mess now means a healthier, thicker lawn down the road.

Pro tip: If you like keeping your windows open, you might want to close them for this process… unless you also enjoy spending your afternoon dusting! 😂

Well, that was a LOT of rain! After nearly two weeks of soggy lawns, we’re happy to trade the rain boots for mowing boots and get back at it!

We’re catching up on mowing while the sunshine lasts, all while keeping fall aeration and lawn maintenance in full swing. Before we know it, it’ll be time to trade the lawnmowers for snow plows!

A little sunshine goes a long way around here!

Ever wondered what lawn overseeding actually looks like?

Before the rainy, dreary weather rolled in, we got a few overseeding project completed, and it got us thinking that not everyone knows what to look for!

With proper overseeding, you’ll see small slits throughout the lawn where the grass seed is placed directly into the soil. Those little lines are a good thing! They help give the seed the soil contact it needs to get established and fill in thin areas.

Fall is a great time for lawn overseeding and lawn care, especially if your grass could use a little help filling in before next spring.

We finally caught a little break in the rain Wednesday and were able to get some mowing done!

It was slow going, but we’ll take what we can get! Hopefully today brings a little more sunshine and a break from the rain so we can get back out there and get some more lawns mowed and fall lawn care work done.

Before we know it, we’ll be trading lawnmowers for snow plows, so we’re going to enjoy these last few weeks of mowing, fertilizing, aerating and taking care of your lawns while we can!
