Upstairs construction at our beach house project is almost done! This bedroom, one of three upstairs, has a great view of the Pawleys Creek outside and inside it’s looking very beachy with new wood walls, ceilings and floors.

This 2008 house replaced a creek cabin on the site since the 1930s. The second floor was left unfinished so we’re finishing it as well as remodeling the first floor to recreate an authentic Pawleys Island creek house look and feel.

This Forest Acres build is anything but cookie-cutter. From the copper-toned gutters and custom wood details to the intricate brickwork, arched garage doors and brick paver entry, every element was thoughtfully designed to give this space its own character.

This Forest Acres custom build takes entertaining to a whole different level. This isn’t just a garage with a couple of chairs. The interior features a full golf simulator, giving the homeowner a place to work on their swing no matter the weather, along with a pool table, game area, TVs, bar, and plenty of space for friends and family to gather. And the details are what really make this space stand out. Warm wood ceilings, custom woodwork, hidden bookshelf doors and even a taxidermy alligator give this one-of-a-kind space plenty of character.

From the three-bay garage to the impressive entertainment space upstairs, this is what custom construction is all about—creating a space that’s built around the way you want to live, relax and entertain.

Coming along! 💪

It’s time to install siding on the newly enclosed porch at our beach house project! We’re also adding a flat trim around all windows to add more depth and authenticity to the exterior.

Other changes were replacing the existing double-hung windows upstairs with casement windows for code-compliant egress.

We’re now deciding on the white paint color for the siding along with the dark trim color we’ll use on shutters, doors and the louvered privacy walls to be added to the bottom level.

Check out the view from this porch!🤩

The post-demo back porch is screen-less, rail-less and so beautifully open. If only it could stay this way and meet building codes!

Alas, that won’t happen so we’re trying to decide what rail and/or screening will preserve as much of the view as possible. We especially don’t want the seated view blocked by a wide rail as we drink coffee in the morning so we’re working on the best solution.

The porch, at 14x40, is a great morning spot (summer evenings are way too hot and sunny) so we’ll furnish the large space with a combination of seating for dining, lounging and rocking.
